Volvo has revealed its latest model, boasting a touch-screen music streaming service and a sleek new look the company claims offers a "contemporary design with a Swedish twist".

The Concept Coupé is the first of three new concept cars to be released by Volvo over the next seven months. The last model in the series, the XC90, will be launched in 2014 when the company promises "the culmination of the three concept cars will become apparent".

"We add emotional value to the Volvo brand with the calm, confident beauty that is the hallmark of Scandinavian design," Thomas Ingenlath, Volvo's new Senior Vice President of Design, said in a statement.

The Concept Coupé takes design cues from the P1800, Volvo's car made famous by Roger Moore in British TV drama The Saint, and marks "a key moment in the rapid transformation of Volvo".

Apart from a new look, the motorist gets a touch-screen that allows music streaming via Spotify, as The Local reported in March.
