Health Matters: Anti-Smoking Ads Contribute To Over 150k 'Quit-Now' Calls - Fox 2 KFXV

The second round of graphic anti-smoking advertisements from the centers for disease control and prevention show many Americans are ready to kick the habit.

The latest statistics show the campaign produces more than 150,000 additional calls to the 1-800-QUIT-NOW call line.

And also generated more than two-and-a-half million additional visitors to the smokefree.gov website.

CDC Director, Dr. Tom Frieden says in the long run those who quit will end up saving lots of money on healthcare costs.

You can find more information on the study in the CDC's morbidity and mortality weekly report.

Be sure to join us next Wednesday for our commit to fit health walk. Were meeting at 6:30 p.m. at a brand new location, Bannworth Park in Mission. Wear lime green and orange because we are walking to support leukemia and lymphoma awareness.
