The government shutdown could affect some people seeking treatment.

FOX's Colleen Cappon explains in this edition of Housecall for Health:

Audio clip: Listen to mp3 clip.

Patients hoping to get treatment at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center will have to go elsewhere during the partial government shutdown. Each week the shutdown lasts will force the agency's research-only hospital to turn away an estimated 200 patients. NIH directors say children with life-threatening illnesses will be accepted, and patients already enrolled will continue to receive care, but call the situation heart-breaking.

Housecall for Health, I'm Colleen Cappon, FOX News Radio.

Editor's Note:  Wednesday evening, the House approved the bill to fund NIH. The vote was 254 to 171.
