Blooming Boutique is marking the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month with a very special event, A Red Carpet Affair at The Beach, October 11^th 4-8pm at the Blooming Boutique Lewes store.  Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition will be in store sharing information, promoting their services and helping to prevent breast cancer one individual at a time. This event is free and you just need to RSVP on the website for the festival www.Trollbeadsatthebeach.com or at a local store. Blooming Boutique is a passionate advocate of breast cancer awareness and felt they needed to do something very special. With this in mind Michiko Seto owner of Blooming Boutique decided to raffle an 18K Gold Trollbead worth a staggering $986. This event is not only playing host to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition awareness and outreach program. Michiko Seto stated that "I just thought it seemed appropriate with having the Trollbeads at the Beach Festival in Lewes in October and it being Breast Cancer Awareness month, that we continue to show our support for Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, with this wonderful raffle, the 18k Gold Ocean Bead fits our coastal area and is a very popular bead in the silver version"

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc. (DBCC) began in 1991 as a small group of community volunteers, led by Maureen Lauterbach, who were committed to decreasing the mortality rate of breast cancer in Delaware. Today DBCC has developed and implemented programs tailored to the unique needs of different populations, including young women with breast cancer, African-American women, Latinas, lesbians, and women with disabilities. DBCC has trained health care providers on providing culturally competent care, and has conducted many educational sessions for the general public through corporate and community organizations. In addition, DBCC has referred thousands of uninsured adults for free and low-cost cancer screenings, and has removed barriers to cancer screenings and treatment by providing interpretation, transportation, and support services.

Today, DBCC remains the only organization in the State of Delaware focused solely on breast health issues as they affect the women and men who live here.
